Product Properties
Sodium saccharin is the first artificially synthesized non-nutritive sweetener. It is soluble in water and has a sweetness of 200 to 500 times that of sucrose in a dilute solution. It has a bitter taste when the concentration is high. It is sweet when heated under acidic conditions. Disappear and form bitter anthranilic acid. Because of its low calorie, not absorbed by the body, and can be discharged automatically with urine and feces, it is used as a sugar substitute by patients with obesity, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, and dental caries.
It is one of the most commonly used artificial sweeteners in soft drinks and is used in a variety of other products,
including fruit juices, chewing gum, mouthwash, toothpaste and pharmaceuticals.
