Feed additives refer to various trace substances added to compound feed. These trace substances are substances that maintain the high growth rate of broilers and are easily lacking in general feed. These additives are mainly as follows.

    chicken feed

    Vitamins

Use special vitamin additives for broilers, and the amount of addition can refer to the recommended amount in the manufacturer's instruction manual, generally 0.02%-0.05%. However, the composition of the diet, environmental conditions (temperature, feeding method, etc.), disease, transportation, transfer, vaccination, etc. must also be considered. When chickens are under these adverse conditions, the amount of vitamins added can be appropriately increased (for example, increased by about 1 times).

    Pigments

The role of such additives is to meet the market's demand for high-quality broiler chickens with yellow skin. Adding them to the feed can deepen the skin color. Synthetic carotenoids are commonly used to supplement the deficiency of lutein in feed. The amount added is generally 2-10 grams per ton of feed. Since there are many types of coloring additives on the market, farmers should pay close attention to whether the coloring additives used are harmful to the human body.

    Amino Acids

Amino acids added to feed are mainly essential amino acids that are most lacking in plant feed. The main additives are artificially synthesized lysine and methionine. Additive dosage is generally 0.02%-0.05%.

    Antioxidants

Because high-quality broiler feed contains a lot of fat, the fat and fat-soluble vitamins in it will be automatically oxidized during storage, which will cause the feed to deteriorate. Therefore, when storing high-quality broiler feed for a long time, it is necessary to add antioxidants to the compound feed.

    Anti-fungal agent

The function of antifungal agent is mainly to prevent mold and deterioration of feed in high temperature and humid seasons.

    FAQs
    • What is The Difference Between Food‑Grade and Industrial‑Grade Xanthan Gum?
      Created with Sketch.
      形状 Created with Sketch.
Food‑grade xanthan gum complies with food‑safety regulations with strict control over heavy metals and impurities for food applications. Industrial‑grade has low sanitary indexes, only for industrial use and must not be consumed.
    • Is Xanthan Gum Bad for You?

      形状 Created with Sketch.
It is safe for most people under normal intake. Excessive consumption may cause mild gastrointestinal bloating for a small group of people.

    • What Can I Use to Replace Xanthan Gum?

      形状 Created with Sketch.
Common alternatives include guar gum, locust bean gum, pectin and CMC. Their thickening and suspending properties vary, so formula dosage needs adjustment.
    • Is Xanthan Gum An Emulsifier?
      Created with Sketch.
      形状 Created with Sketch.
It is not a real emulsifier. It acts as a thickener‑stabilizer, reducing phase separation by raising system viscosity.
    • Is Xanthan Gum Vegan?
      Created with Sketch.
      形状 Created with Sketch.
Yes. It is produced by microbial fermentation of carbohydrates, contains no animal‑sourced ingredients, suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
