What is premix feed

Premix feed refers to a mixture that is uniformly stirred by one or more additive raw materials (or monomers) and a carrier or diluent (diluent, thinner), also known as additive premix. 1.Classification of premix feed

• Single premix

It is a homogeneous mixture prepared from a single additive raw material or multiple feed additives of the same type and a carrier or diluent. Mainly due to the very small amount of one or a certain type of additive used, primary premixing is required to be more evenly distributed into bulk feed. In the production, a single vitamin, a single trace element (selenium, iodine, cobalt, etc.), a variety of vitamins, and a variety of trace elements are often pre-mixed to make a single premix.

• Compound premix

It is a homogeneous mixture made by mixing various kinds of feed additives with carriers or diluents according to the formula and actual requirements, such as premixes of trace elements, vitamins and other ingredients.

• Prevent and reduce the loss of active ingredients and ensure the stability and effectiveness of the premix. Select raw materials with good stability. In terms of vitamins, stabilized raw materials should be selected. When using sulfate trace elements, the crystal water should be reduced as much as possible, or oxides should be used instead, and organic trace elements can also be used. Control the dosage of choline chloride, because of its strong water absorption, it has a damaging effect on vitamins. Vitamins should be added in excess, especially when the storage time exceeds 3 months, good quality antioxidants, anti-caking agents and anti-mold agents should be added.

• Stability of trace components: Under normal storage and use conditions, the physical and chemical properties of trace elements, vitamins and other components in the premix are stable. But when the moisture content is high, its stability is poor and the loss rate is large. The moisture content of the premix should be strictly controlled, preferably not more than 5%.

• Amino acid addition problem: Many experiments have confirmed that the addition of rumen methionine and lysine can improve milk production and economic benefits, and can be added by dairy farms according to specific conditions.

• Measurement and mixing: For the measurement of trace components, electronic scales should be used, accurate to 0.01 grams, and scales can be used for large quantities of raw materials. There are many kinds of mixers. The ordinary vertical mixer is prone to the shortcomings of automatic separation and slow unloading due to its slow feeding speed. It is best to use a horizontal twin-ribbon mixer or a conical mixer.

• Packaging and storage: Most of the premixed packaging bags use three-in-one paper bags, which have the advantages of waterproof, light-proof, no leakage and not easy to damage. Generally 20 ~ 25 kg / bag. Since the premix contains a variety of active trace components, the interaction opportunities are increased, and moisture-proof should be paid attention to during storage.
