Monocalcium Phosphate, an inorganic compound with the chemical formula Ca(H2PO4)2, is a colorless triclinic flake, granular or crystalline powder, easily soluble in hydrochloric acid and nitric acid, slightly soluble in cold water, and almost insoluble in ethanol. It is widely used as a feed additive for aquaculture animals and livestock and poultry breeding animals. It is used as a leavening agent, dough conditioner, buffer, nutritional supplement, emulsifier, stabilizer, and other quality improver in food.

Different chemical and physical properties

Monocalcium phosphate is a colorless triclinic flake, granular, or crystalline powder. There is a strong sour taste. The pure product does not absorb moisture but contains trace impurities, such as phosphoric acid, which can deliquescence. It loses crystal water at 100°C and decomposes at 200°C. Calcium hydrogen phosphate is a white monoclinic crystalline powder, odorless and tasteless.

Different usage

Monocalcium phosphate is widely used as feed additives for aquaculture animals and livestock and poultry breeding animals, as leavening agents, dough conditioners, buffers, nutritional supplements, emulsifiers, stabilizers, and other quality improvement agents. Calcium hydrogen phosphate is generally used as a fortifier (calcium supplement) and a leavening agent, and it can be used in biscuits, infant formula food, etc.

The preparation method is different

Monocalcium phosphate can be neutralized by food-grade calcium hydrogen phosphate or food-grade tricalcium phosphate and food-grade phosphoric acid solution, and the control endpoint is Ph value 3.2

Effects Of Monocalcium Phosphate

Monocalcium phosphate mainly provides phosphorus, calcium, and other mineral nutrients for livestock and poultry compound feed, and livestock and poultry are very easy to digest and absorb. It can accelerate the growth and development of livestock and poultry, shorten the fattening period, and gain weight rapidly; it can improve the breeding rate and survival rate of livestock and poultry. At the same time, it can enhance the disease resistance and cold resistance of livestock and poultry and has a preventive effect on cartilage disease, pullorrhea, and paralysis of livestock and poultry.

Storage Of Monocalcium Phosphate

It should be packed in the WPP/PE bags and stored in a ventilation and cool environment kept out of sunshine and anti-rain with cover. Keep dry and prevent heating damage. Store separately, far from poison. Load and handle with care to prevent package damage.

The feed-grade Mono-Calcium phosphate is packed in WPP/PE bags. The inner bag should be tied with rope and the outer one should be sewed by the machine. The net weight is 25kg/bag, 50 kg/bag and 1000kg/bag. It can be tailored according to the clients' requirements under this stipulation. It’s not allowed to carry harmful stuff during transportation.

It is neutralized by food-grade calcium hydrogen phosphate or food-grade tricalcium phosphate and food-grade phosphoric acid solution, and the control endpoint is Ph value 3.2; then the product is obtained by concentration and crystallization; CaHPO4+H3P04→Ca(H2PO4)2

Use lime to neutralize food-grade phosphoric acid, and control the endpoint to a PH value of 3.2 to obtain calcium dihydrogen phosphate.
