Protein feeds are feeds containing less than 18% crude fiber and 20% or more crude protein in dry matter. Compared with energy feeds, this type of feed has a high protein content and good quality, but it is different in energy No. The price of protein feed is generally high, and the proportion of animal feed is also small. It is only used as a protein supplement.

What are the 2 types of protein?

Feed includes plant protein feed and animal protein feed. Plant-based protein feeds include legumes and their processing by-products, cereal processing by-products, and oil cakes. Animal protein feeds include blood-bone meal, fish meal, silkworm pupae, etc., which are characterized by high protein content, which is 3--8 times that of grain feeds. Feeding pigs with energy feeds in diets, the use of appropriate can make male and female Normal reproduction, promote piglet growth and fattening.

plant protein feed

1. Legume seeds

Cowpeas such as soybeans, broad beans, and adzuki beans. The content of crude protein is rich, accounting for about 20-40%, the content of starch and sugar is lower than that of cereals, and the content of vitamins and minerals is close to that of cereals. The protein quality of legumes is the best, and the lysine content is as high as 1.8-3.06%; but the amount of sulfur-containing amino acids such as methionine is relatively small, which is difficult to meet the needs of fattening pigs at their later stages. Legume seeds contain trypsin, substances that cause goiter, saponin, hemagglutinin, and other unfavorable slugs that affect palatability, digestibility, and some physiological processes in pigs. Therefore, before feeding legumes, heat treatment at 110 °C for at least 3 minutes.

2. Meal

Rye cakes are also called oil cakes, which are by-products of oil crops after extracting oil, including soybean cakes, rapeseed cakes, sesame cakes and linseed cakes. There are two production methods for cakes. The products of the solvent extraction method are commonly referred to as meals, and the products of the press method are called cakes. The former does not undergo high temperature and pressure, except for the reduction of oil and fat compared with the raw materials, the other nutritional components do not change much; the latter often causes denaturation, especially lysine and other are the most damaged. But high temperature and pressure can also destroy the toxic substances in cottonseed and flaxseed. Bean cake contains more than 40% crude protein with high quality and high lysine content. In addition to low methionine content, various amino acids are extremely balanced, making it a good quality protein feed in oil cakes. Rapeseed cake today contains toxic substances, which often poison pigs.        Do not feed more. It only needs 8% of the feed. Cottonseed cake has a lot of protein and good quality, but its palatability is poor; cooking and detoxification should not exceed 10% of the feed. If it is not detoxified, it should not exceed 3%

3. Dross

The by-products of brewing, pulverizing and grain making of lees dregs include vinegar lees, lees, dregs, tofu pond, sauce dregs, etc. The dry protein content of distiller's grains is 22%-31%, especially the barley distiller's grains is higher, and the lowest is beer grains. The water content of freshly brewed lees reaches 64% -76%, which should not be too large in the proportion of pig diet, otherwise it will be difficult to meet the nutritional requirements. There are four taboos when feeding pigs. One bogey single feed. Two bogey amount. Three bogey deterioration.

Animal protein feed

Protein has high energy and minerals such as fish meal, blood meal, and bone meal. Pigs also have the necessary amino acid content. The crude protein content is 55% -84%. Lysine is particularly rich. But methionine is slightly less, and blood meal is also deficient in isoleucine. It is not advisable to feed more animal protein feed in the late fattening period, so as not to affect the slaughter quality.
